 About Departmentmech lab 18042016 8

Mechanical Engineering is one of the major divisions within the profession and its principles are involved in the design, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems which technology has produced.Mechanical engineers are also concerned with the operations of all kinds of machinery and the production of power. They must conceive, research, design, develop, test, manufacture and sell equipments for these purposes

 Infrastructure

The Mechanical Engineering Department has over 17 laboratories such as thermal engineering, heat-transfer, dynamics, metallurgy, metrology, fuels, etc.mech lab 18042016 1

Modern computing facilities are available for the students at Computer Aided Design and Computer Integrated Manufacturing Laboratories. Mechanical modeling software CATIA, I-DEAS, Solid works; Finite Element Analysis Software ANSYS, LS-Dyna, NASTRAN; Mechanical simulation software U-Grip, Virtual NC, QUEST, LS – DYNAFORM; Manufacturing software SOLIDCAM and CNC software are available to cater to the student’s needs.

  • Established in the year 2006 , has well equipped laboratories and  close interactions with the leading industries and institutions for teaching, Research and Development.
  • Has made pioneering in its contributions in  thrust areas such as design, manufacturing and materials.
  • Has competent and dedicated faculty members among whom 3 are doctorates and 70% of them pursuing Ph.D programme.mech lab 18042016 3
  • Caters the need of the students and researchers in teaching, projects, higher studies and placement, through the Indo-Brazil Bilateral Research Center for Advanced Materials supported by ,International and National Level Collaborations Center for Alternate fuel and Cape Renewable Energy Research Center promote research and consultancy.
  • Focuses towards nation’s need and society, taking up challenging social issues as DST funded projects .
  • Serves as platform providing excellent engineering exposure through International and National events like Conferences, Workshops, Seminars, etc.
  • Have participated in many International level programmes for paper presentations, projects, etc. and  bagged awards of appreciation.
  • Students have submitted 4 patents with most of them  involved in projects , along with Brazillian scholars and professors as a part of, the Department of Science and Technology Research Project.
